This piece was created in series of one-off bird bowls prepared for special exhibition in Minneapolis. It was carved entirely with hand tools. The Aspen log was cut, split, hewn to shape with an axe, hollowed with an adze and gouges, and finished with various carving knives. It’s finished with milk paint and an oil/beeswax mix.
